Are You at Risk?

Is This for You?

Men's health screening is beneficial at any age — but becomes more important from your 30s onwards. Here is a simple guide to what to prioritise based on where you are in life.

In Your 20s and 30sStart Early

Establish your health baseline early. Blood tests for cholesterol, blood sugar, liver, and kidney function tell you where you stand before problems develop. Testosterone levels are worth checking from your 20s — they can begin declining earlier than most expect.

Essential blood screening recommended
In Your 40sPriority

Prostate cancer risk rises. PSA testing becomes important. Heart disease risk increases with age, weight, and stress. Add cardiac markers and an ECG to your routine. CEDAR covers all of this.

CEDAR Package recommended
50s and BeyondEssential

Comprehensive coverage is strongly recommended. Prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, and lung health all warrant attention. OAK gives you the complete picture including bone density and advanced imaging.

OAK Package strongly recommended

Risk Factors to Watch For

Family History

A father, brother, or son diagnosed with prostate or colorectal cancer — this raises your own risk significantly

Smoking

Current or former smoker — increased risk of lung, bladder, and oral cancers as well as heart disease

Overweight

A higher BMI (Body Mass Index) is linked to diabetes, heart disease, and several cancers

Sedentary Lifestyle

Low physical activity raises your risk of metabolic syndrome — a cluster of conditions including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and insulin resistance

High Stress

Chronic stress elevates cortisol, raises blood pressure, and increases cardiovascular risk over time

Age 40+

Prostate cancer, hypertension, and metabolic conditions become significantly more common from your 40s — regular screening becomes essential

Preparation Guide

Before Your Screening

What to Bring

01NRIC / FIN / Passport
02Recent medical reports or scans
03List of current medications
04Referral letter (if applicable)

Before Your Appointment

Fast for at least 8 hours before your appointment. Plain water is fine.
Omit diabetic medication (e.g. Metformin, insulin) until after your blood draw.
All other chronic medications can be taken as normal.
Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours prior
Get adequate rest the night before

Test-Specific Instructions

Blood Tests
Fast for at least 8 hours before your appointment. Plain water is fine. This ensures accurate readings for cholesterol, glucose, and liver function.
ECG (Heart Rhythm Test)
Wear a 2-piece outfit — electrodes will be placed on your chest.
Chest X-Ray
Inform us if you had a chest X-ray in the preceding 6 months.
Ultrasound Abdomen
Fast for at least 8 hours. Avoid smoking at least 2 hours before the scan for clearest imaging of liver, kidneys, and gallbladder.
Ultrasound Prostate
Drink 5–6 glasses of plain water 1 hour before your scan. Do not urinate — a full bladder is required for clear imaging.
Spirometry (Lung Function)
Avoid heavy meals and smoking for 4 hours before. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Treadmill Stress Test (OAK Special Test)
Avoid caffeinated food and drinks on the day. Wear sports attire and running shoes — bring a spare set of clothes. Inform us if you have any known heart conditions or are on heart or blood pressure medications before booking.
Urine Test
No fasting required. Fill at least half the container using the mid-stream portion. No overnight urine — fresh sample on the day.
Stool Test
No fasting required. Overnight stool is acceptable. Use the stick provided — scoop a small amount. Avoid red meat and iron supplements 3 days before. Keep sample away from urine or water.

If you are unwell on the day, please reschedule.
Rescheduling must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
